Sales promotion items and LED technology

Promotional and advertising items are placed inside retail spaces. Their job is to catch the customer’s eye and turn that attention into a purchase. They are known by the abbreviations POP (point of purchase) and POS (point of sale).

LED displays show the time, date, temperature or price (at petrol stations), for example. They are controlled by a remote control, an app or over a data network. They are also built into advertising totems. Choose from a wide range of colours and two types of display:

• Segment displays: They show the digits 0 to 9 and text characters. Depending on the number of segments they come in four types: 7- and 9-segment displays show digits and some text characters, 14- and 16-segment displays show digits and the text characters of the Latin alphabet.
• Matrix displays: They consist of an array of LEDs, usually grouped into a square matrix. On a square 8 × 8 LED matrix you can show simple graphics as well as numbers and text.
